Thanksgiving

9:31 PM

We had a lovely Thanksgiving with Grandma, Grandpa, and Tia D. We also took lots of photos. Here is play-by-play of our holiday (this post is rather long, and possibly boring to those of you who weren't here with us--if you make it to the end, kuddos):

Bright and early Thursday morning Stephen prepared the turkey (we never seem to have kitchen string and had to use wire).

I had the table set by 10:30 am 'cause I am just loving my new napkins!

I got all bundled up and took head shots for Tia D's new website in between glasses of wine. This is my professional photographer face. I developed it during my second and last semester as an art major at UNLV.

There was singing of some sort because that's what families do at gatherings.

At some point, Stephen melted the meat thermometer and I am sure our turkey was poisoned with all kinds of toxins.

We wrote down what we were thankful for. Henry is apparently thankful for himself, but so am I.

We shared our love for one another--it isn't always pretty.

The turkey came out of oven looking just delicious!

We ate. It was all local (hooray for us!) and it was damn good!

And then there was some intermittent shopping. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I went to Toys R US at 10pm on Thursday. Round trip, Tia D and I were gone for three hours. I saved myself about 25 bucks, which roughly equals $8.30 an hour, which roughly equals not worth my time. I won't be doing that again!

Friday night we ate pizza and played Apples to Apples. Henry and Grandpa won (Grandpa always wins. We think he and Grandma have some sort of secret-spouse-winning-pact).

And eventually, everyone braved the snowy weather and went home. Happy Thanksgiving.
