fish and folk
1:20 AMJack is in town for a week or so. We had him over for dinner in Friday. My cousin Kevan, who recently moved here, also joined us. We had salmon for dinner. Jack prepared it and cooked it. Stephen walked him through the whole process step-by-step.

Jack tried his best, but it took two people to pull the fish off the grill. It was all very comical. And it was all very delicious.

By the way, Henry and Wyatt were there on Friday evening, I just didn't get any good pictures of them. And Wyatt had food on his face all night, anyway. After they went to bed we broke out the guitar and passed it around. No one really knew the chords or lyrics to an entire song, so we turned to Youtube. Then Jack and I started singing along to Joan Baez, if you can even call what I do singing.

Dylan showed up after a soccer game, but by then he'd missed the sing-along. He loves him some Joan Baez but I don't think he was overly disappointed.

I was looking at these pictures yesterday and thinking about how my life is full of boys. A husband, two sons, two brothers. Of course, I have lots of friends and family and not all of them are boys. But the people I spend the most time with are boys. My reflection on this doesn't get any deeper. Maybe it's more of an observation. At any rate, I like boys. Always have, especially these ones.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Lacie. It was a fun night.
ReplyDeleteYou need to tell stephen to cut that gogol bordello off of his lip.
ReplyDeleteI've told him--numerous times. Maybe, when you see him next month, you can shave it off while he is sleeping. I'll pay you.
