twinskin! blog post!
8:41 AMSo we've got these friends Josh and Kalley, and like most people we know, they're from Twin Falls. Josh and I were in the same fifth grade class. Kalley's older brother Jason (also a twin) worked for my dad. Stephen was the officiant at their wedding. You know, the usual Twin Falls connections.

Anyway, every time Josh sees me with my camera or taking a photo he shouts out things like:
Twinskin!
Blog post!
Watch out! You might see yourself on Hannah's blog!
And then I find myself defending the fact that maybe I just want to take a picture of that delicious taco. That I don't have a blog post in mind. I'm just trying to teach myself some skills and practice makes perfect, Josh!
This was totally the case on Saturday afternoon at Kalley's 30th birthday party. I brought my camera but had no intention of sharing any of the photos on my blog because I know how birthday parties with kegs usually play out - and I don't share those pictures on my little family blog.
But now, just to prove Josh...right (I guess), here are some photos from our Saturday afternoon.
It was a super fun party. Kalley's older sister Joely (the other twin) put together the radest dessert table I've ever seen in person. There were even paper flowers hanging above the table, which we all know are my favorite!
And the food was amazing. There was taco bar. Like legitimate taco truck food. I don't actually think I've had better food at a house party before. Not the say that all of our friends don't serve amazing food, this was just like the best ever. Ever.

In addition to homemade desserts and delicious tacos, there was also a fair amount of beer drinking and catching up with old friends. Your typical social gathering.
But there was also some unexpected bike racing and other silliness, which is I guess is typical when all the kiddos are with a sitter and the adults don't have to worry about being adults for a few hours.
And eventually there was a dance party. A hardcore dance party. Like show off your moves from junior high dance party. Like whip off your hoodie and dance to the Footloose soundtrack (on vinyl) with your respective spouse or partner dance party. The dance party is always, always, my favorite part of any celebration. If you've seen me in action at a wedding reception you know what I am taking about!

At least most people danced to Footloose with their buddies. But that's cool. I can hold my own on the dance floor!
