i can run
8:19 AMYep. I can run. I can run even if I don't try. Of course, it's not like me to toot my own horn or anything BUT I finished the the Sun Valley Half Marathon in 2:33:35. And I didn't even train. I ran like seven or eight times in preparation for the race (toot toot)!
Because the SV 1/2 is supposedly less difficult than Robie, I had hoped to beat my Robie time. I didn't. Plus, this race was challenging, especially the rolling hills stretching the last mile. But when you consider that I didn't really try, I guess two and a half hours isn't bad (toot toot).
Anyway, the race was partially meant to motivate me to move my body (um, didn't happen) and partially an excuse to plan a girls trip with two good friends (tons-o-fun). Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos. We arrived late on Friday, I didn't bring my camera to the race for fear of loosing it, and afterward I was too exhausted to do much of anything.
Here we are before the race at approximately 7:09 am. I hope my head doesn't look that big in real life!

So no race photos, but I did run into (run, haha) my friend Becky
before the race. She lives in Hailey and I had a sneaking suspicion that she might be there!
Karen and Mila did train so they crossed the finish line before me and were there to cheer me on as neared the end, which I needed 'cause I was real tired!
Afterward we spent a lot of time relaxing and recuperating. And of course eating on the condo deck. Mila likes to eat as much as I do!
You should know that Karen had food in her mouth, which we all thought was pretty funny! And also, isn't SV just one of the most beautiful places on earth!

Not captured are many delicious meals and a failed attempt to visit the Frenchman Bend Hot Springs. Perhaps I'll do a better job next year with the photos since I think I'll try this race again!
