two fish dead fish, one fish new fish

This past summer the boys participated in the library's summer reading program. One of the prizes was a free goldfish and not being ones to pass up free shit, we headed straight to Zamzows to claim our prizes!--and  promptly spent about $20 on supplies for .54 cents worth of fish. But Bowlhead and Slaphead (formerly know as Wyatt) have brought countless hours of joys to our lives and were well worth the investment.

Well, on Friday Stephen dropped a big ol' rock on Bowlhead while cleaning the fishbowl. It was a slow death but hopefully not a painful one because fish are stupid, right. According to Stephen, Bowlhead swam sideways or sank while Stephen tried to revive him with fish food. Eventually it became clear that Bowlhead was headed for a new bowl--the porcelain bowl.

Although Stephen felt awful, Henry could have cared less. He was busy watching TV at Nana and TomTom's house when his dad called to break the news. Nothing interferes with TV. After returing home Henry was disappointed that he could not see Bowlhead one final time before purchasing a replacement.

And what a fine replacement Slobberhead is. Beautiful coloring. Just beautiful. He is on the left (see the big rock).

Our family is once again complete and I look forward to many more happy pet filled days.
