I'm gonna eat a lot of peaches and hope my kids find Jesus on their own

This past weekend was jam-packed. The boys took off Thursday with their TomTom for a fun-filled weekend with my parents, leaving me and Stephen to fend for ourselves--it was great! Thursday night we bought overpriced fabric for this rad bench Stephen picked up at the DI for twenty bucks (20 for the bench, not the fabric). Of course I won't be sewing the seat cushion. I have pawned  that off on my mother-in-law. She is the bomb when it comes to sewing so it is really best that she help me with this one. But I'll sew the throw pillows, just you wait.

Friday we had the most delightful dinner with friends. Stephen made the best-ever-so-far stuffed pork tenderloin. The best! We stayed up late laughing around the table. I was having so much fun that I saved all the dishes for the next morning, which is so not my team. It took me nearly an hour and a half to clean up on Saturday. Mostly because I set the table with the china I use maybe twice a year. But why not--it was a grown up party!

Kitchen clean, I headed for my home town to can some peaches with Tom and Dana. We also canned marinara sauce, although I missed most of that process. But I still came home with a few jars just for being there, I guess.

Canning peaches was pretty easy with a team of three. It was important for Dana to periodically point out that she right about whatever. And, as it turned out, she was right every time. As you can imagine, I also inherited this amazing ability to be right in every situation, just ask Stephen.

And then I slept for 10 hours. It was beautiful. On our way back home, we stopped at the Thousand Springs Festival of the Arts. I left with a lot of "I could do that myself" ideas. And we rode a school bus. It was the highlight of Henry and Wyatt's weekend. It was even better than Kings!

The weekend ended with dinner at the Double D Ranch in celebration of Little Brother Number 1's birthday. That lucky duck has spent his last 4 birthdays with us. Or maybe it is us that are the lucky ones.
