ghosts in the graveyard
10:30 PMBeing the amazing father that he is, Stephen picked up some Halloween craft books at the library last week. On Monday the boys finally got around to crafting it up and hung 16 broken-neck ghosts from a tree in the front yard. Not my first pick for fall decor but I am learning to be less of control freak. It is a slow process, just ask Stephen.
So not only are there 16 ghosts hanging in my front yard, there are 16 really creepy, faceless, broken-neck ghosts hanging in my front yard. They are so creepy that Henry was unable to sleep on both Monday and Tuesday nights because he was scared of the ghosts outside his window (it also does not help that the neighbor girl told Henry about Sinking Sand, a monster that makes people sink into the ground!).
Around 3:30am on Wednesday morning, Henry and I decided that maybe Dad needed to take the ghosts down. Well, hell...that ain't no option because Dad spent 3 hours hanging those damn things and Wyatt wants ghosts in the tree because it is very important to him that we have scary Halloween decorations like Richard and Ardath.
Luckily, 30 minutes spent watching Casper the Friendly Ghost on Hulu last night relieved Henry of his fears and we all slept through the night again...at least for one night because as Wyatt was reading the paper this morning he came across a Shopko add.
This is a second-hand story, but he wants to put those boxes that people go in when they die in the front yard.
Coffins?
No. Where do all those boxes go?
A graveyard.
Yeah. A graveyard. Let's buy that a Shopko for our Halloween decorations. Mom knows where that is!
Poor Henry B. It is going to be a sleepless two weeks.
