calgon, take me away
11:36 PMI am a tub person. I usually take a bath every night. It's awful to admit—it wastes tons of water, but it helps me relax. However, I am making a good faith effort to limit my baths to two or three times a week. This makes me feel like a better person in some weird way.
I typically take my baths after the boys are asleep, but last Tuesday night I promptly jumped in after kissing them goodnight. Big mistake! Well, I hadn't technically jumped in but I had started my routine, and as I was mercilessly going at my chin, the boys popped in to use the toilet. And since they both had to go, a game of swords ensued. This was only a minor disruption to my ritual.
HOWEVER, only minutes later Henry was back to go again! And for just having gone, he sure needed to go. I then seemed to remember blocking out their earlier conversation about who wins at swords. In their version, the first to finish wins. I like their version. The version my bothers played lasted much longer and was much messier.
Back to my relaxing bath, I barely have to time to wash my chin before Henry is back for a number two. This involves parental assistance, and therefore, requires that I get out of the tub. And because the winner of swords is the quickest goer, Wyatt is also back to fully relieve himself too!
And now I no longer like their version swords. I like quiet, relaxing baths that don't involve multiple potty breaks, sword fights, and ass wiping! Of course, it's my fault. How silly of me to take some time for myself while my children are still awake (this is both sarcastic and true, it was incredibly silly of me). When will I ever learn?!
