spring has sprung
8:19 AMOn Tuesday, I made a half-assed attempt to celebrate the first day of spring with the boys. I picked up three primroses on my way home from work. I thought we could plant them in aluminum cans and wrap them in pastel yarn.
However, we waited until after dinner to start our project because I am usually famished by the time I get home in the evenings. Plus, Stephen wasn't there to help so that meant everything took a little longer. And then the boys wanted to plant their roses in clear glass containers rather than cans. And then I realized that we didn't have any potting soil. Of course, we could have gone outside for dirt but it snowed on the first day of spring here in our city and I just didn't feel like sloping through the wet yard. I also forgot about the yarn.
So you can see how the whole thing very quickly turned into a half-assed family activity. All the same, it was still a fun 3 minute project.
I had wanted to place the flowers throughout the common areas of the house to make it feel more like spring. Henry and Wyatt wanted their very own flowers in their room. We decided their window sill would be the best spot for the flowers to live. And I guess I'll just move my flowers from room to room each day in order spread around the feel of spring!

Happy spring!
