As far as I can remember (which isn't saying much), this is the first year Henry and Wyatt have received individual birthday gifts. And that might not be the best way to put it. They typically receive individuals gifts. Those gifts just tend to be similar, if not the same.

For example, last year they got new bikes. Both bikes are the same brand but one is white and is orange. The year before that, we gave them sleeping bags - completely identical.

The reasoning behind our gift choices are simple. We don't want a fight. We don't want a comparison. We want everything to be as equal as posible.

But this year we decided to take the plunge and buy them each the gift they asked for! Wyatt ended up with walkie talkies and Henry received a remote control helicopter. And they loved it. It worked out perfectly. I think we'll take the same approach next year. Heck, we might even buy them different Christmas gifts!
