I don't particularly like those keep calm posters. I don't get them and I particularly dislike that stupid crown. Just so everyone knows.

The boys were practicing meditation the other night, although I was calling it yoga because I used to attend a yoga class that ended with whatever that ending relaxation pose is called where you lie in the dark - I obviously don't attend yoga classes on a regular basis otherwise I would know what this pose is called. I think most yoga classes end with this pose and the instructor I had would walk around helping everyone lengthen and relax their bodies. It was my favorite part of the entire 60 minutes. And so that's what I did for the boys. Repeatedly, while they shifted and reshifted to get comfortable.



Stephen sang James Taylor and John Prine songs while the boys reflected or rested or whatever it was they were doing on the floor with their eyes closed. I like that these are the things we do with our children in the evening. I like that Stephen sings. I like that I lengthen. I like that my children are curious and gentle and quiet. I think more of life should be like this.

 

Aren't they precious. They were just trying to prolong their bedtime but I could care less!
