a muffin tin

Even though the summer always flies by too fast, I think this has been a particularly long one for my guys. Stephen is our stay-at-home parent (of which I am infinitely jealous) but even so, he still has to work. And on top of the online course he taught this summer, he had to take an online course himself. And on top of that, he has had to spend all day everyday with the boys.

It's a challenge to entertain and care for two crazy kids while still trying to work and study. Ask Stephen, he'll tell you all about it! We'd been banking on the fact that the neighborhood would be overflowing with feral children this summer as part of our entertainment plan, but apparently everyone else on our street can afford day camps. Bummer. No friends makes for a long day and an even longer week.

Every so often I come up with a craft idea that spares the boys from boredom for at least 20 minutes or so. Most recently we made sidewalk paint originally discovered on Pinterest and then rediscovered (with directions) on this sweet little blog.

Each muffin cup contains 1 tablespoon corn starch, 1 tablespoon water, and 1 drop food coloring. Mix well.
