our house: the pantry
8:28 AMI am on a roll with these house posts! Although this isn't a before and after post. It's just a before post, which definitely makes it easier to roll.
So when I took pictures for my post about the back bathroom barn door, I also took some pictures of our pantry - being that it is in such close proximity to the bathroom and all...which suddenly kind of grosses me out because there is no fan in the bathroom...um...so here I am taking a picture of the bathroom and you can see the pantry behind me in the mirror.

Anyway, the pantry is a mess. Or really a disaster because nothing in my house is a mess. I don't do messes very well. The pantry used to be hidden by two crappy sliding doors that didn't ready work. We ripped those pieces of shit out six years ago. And, as you can see below, we also ripped out the trim that surrounded the sliding doors. I thought it would give us more space. It's really just given us a year or more of exposed sheet rock and electrical wire.

I have high hopes for this pantry come September or October. There's a lot of wasted space and ugliness going on here that I am anxious to take care of. I'd especially like to get rid of that five gallon bucket of oats Stephen purchased in bulk from our neighbor's church - they're "waiting for the lights to go out" - whatever the hell that means! I could also do without those dozen or so bottles of flat, sour, undrinkable apple cider that Stephen brewed over a year ago!
And just in case you're curious about what I have in mind, these three images found via Pinterest have my creative wheels a spinnin'. You can expect to see some combination of these ideas come autumn - if everything goes as planned, that is.
